Tunnelling Equipment for SaleA JV of Razel, Bouygues and Spie Batignolles TPCI sells a CSM Bessac TBM and associated equipment fabricated in 2001, used on the Blagis-Cachan sewer tunnel built for SIAAP, the Paris metropolitan sewage management authority. This 3.5 km sewer from Fontenay-aux-Roses to Bourg-la-Reine and Cachan in Hauts-de-Seine department will increase stormwater storage capacities in the Bievre valley and avoid polluting spills into the Seine. The tunnel has been driven in two sections, a first tunnel (2,250 m) and a second tunnel (1,250 m) built from March 2003 and April 2005. Work took place in two 8-hour shifts at an average daily progress of 16.5 linear metres, achieving a best day of 26.4 linear metres/day, a best week of 96 m and a best month of 350 m. The CSM Bessac TBM is a 9,490 mm-long air pressure balanced shield excavator, operable with a maximum confinement pressure of 2 bar. The cutting head is 3,650 mm in diameter (3,640 mm for the tailskin). It weighs 80 tons and the installed power is 325 KW. The 35 m-long back-up train comprises of seven sledges equipped with a conveyor belt, concrete pump, conveyor for the segments and ventilation. The installed power is 25 KW. The muck train consists of two 2-axle articulated locos, four 5 cu m tilting skips, a platform for transporting materials and personnel, a transfer cart for grout and suspended rail DC supply.
