South Tyrol Castelbello ring road decision The competition for the construction of the 3 km-long Castelbello and Colsano ring on the SS 38 has been decided, and funds will be allocated in 2012. The solution chosen from the eight submitted projects is considered sustainable in terms of landscape and economic feasiblility. Work will be undertaken in three phases: the first for excavation of a 2,415 m-long tunnel from east to west; the second for the construction of escape exits; and the third for the construction of intersections.
