Second Gotthard road tunnel agreed

The Swiss government has decided to build the second Gotthard road tunnel to facilitate refurbishment of the existing 16 km-long single tube, bi-directional connection between the cantons of Uri and Ticino. Opening date is scheduled for 2027 at a cost of EUR2.34 billion. Visit tunnelbuilder archive ch/50. 26/12.
