On 25.09.2012 excavation commenced on the second tube of the 4 km-long Saverne tunnel on the Baudrecourt-Strasbourg section, the second stage of the Paris-Strasbourg high-speed line. The first tube broke through in June, 2012. Design and construction of the 7.5 km-long stage, lot 47, was awarded in September, 2010 to the JV Dodin Campenon Bernard Construction, composed of Spie Batignolles TPCI, Vinci construction Terrassement, Valerian, Strabas, GTM Alsace, GTM Lorraine, Bonnard et Gardel, Campenon Bernard Dodin Ingenierie, Alain Spielmann, Antea, Lassus paysage, Cegelec Centre-est and Cegelec Nord-est.
