STEC launches its own large-diameter slurry shieldShanghai Tunnel Engineering Company (STEC) has announced the launch on 26.12.2008 of its in-house designed and built 11.22 m-diameter slurry shield. The machine is being employed on excavation of the duplicate 3 km-long DaPu road tunnel across the Yangtse river from the Pudong side to provide access for the World Expo 2010 site.
