Press release - Among the various special initiatives that uniquely characterize the SAIE 2022, the Construction, Design, Building and Plants’ Fair - in BolognaFiere from 19 to 22 October, there will also be the SIG (Società Italiana Gallerie) tunnelling area.
SIG will showcase the supply chain for tunnelling with presentations of products, projects and case histories on strategic issues for the sector. This will all be coordinated by SIG with contributions from infrastructure managers, engineering companies and construction companies in charge of the works.
The projects and subjects that will be covered in depth are:-
- the Brenner Base Tunnel (in collaboration with BBT);
- the Moncenisio Base Tunnel (in collaboration with TELT);
- Line C of the Rome Metro: Engineering and Archeology for the Art and History Stations (in collaboration with Metro C);
- interventions on existing / operating tunnels (in collaboration with TECNE - Autostrade per l'Italia Group);
- digitization and computerization of large infrastructures (in collaboration with the Polytechnic of Turin).
On 20 and 21 October - during SAIE 2022 - SIG will also organize an international conference that will explore the latest advances and future challenges for the tunnel sector. The role of underground infrastructures in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
