On the 23.04.2020 the TBM named Aysylu was launched to start the construction of the first 5.37 section of  the second metro line in Kazan from Fuchik – Sakharov, the contractor is Kazmetrostroy JSC. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.

This section will include 4 stations: Fuchik, 10th Micro-district, 100th anniversary of TASSR and Sakharov. The Sakharov metro station is still under construction and this section is planned to be completed in 4-5 years.

The second metro line will connect 5 districts of the city: Volga, Soviet, Novo-Savinovsky, Moscow and Kirov. Line 2 will be built in 11 stages with a total of 20 km and 12 stations built altogether.
