The 3 joint ventures Skanska Norge AS and Vassbakk & Stol AS (Norway), AF Group Norway AS (Norway) and Eiffage Genie Civil (France) have until 09:00am on 10 June to submit the first offer for the Stad ship tunnel.
This week, the Norwegian Coastal Administration will hold the fourth and final round of clarification meetings with service providers in Trondheim. These meetings provide important input both in preparing valid and realistic offers and in the implementation of the work.
One of the big questions is the cost. The prices received will be decisive for the further progress of the project. If they exceed the approved cost framework, the Storting will have to approve a new framework. If the limits are met, only initial funding from the state budget will be needed to start construction of the project.
After June 10, the actual negotiation phase will begin. If the bids are within the planned budget, the contract is expected to be signed in autumn 2025 and construction to begin in 2026. Estimated construction time: approx. five years
The navigation tunnel will be built at the narrowest point of the Stad peninsula, between Moldefjorden and Kjodepollen, in Vanylvsfjorden. The tunnel will be 1.7 km long (2.2 km including the entrance areas), 50 m high and 36 m wide.
