This week marks the unveiling of Metro Tunnel HQ, an
information centre where visitors can learn how this once-in-a-generation
project will be built and get up-to-date information about works in their area.
Drop by and find out more about temporary changes to the
road, tram and rail networks to enable construction of this massive project.
The new centre includes a dedicated learning centre which
hosts an education program developed for Victorian teachers and students that
matches the Victorian Curriculum.
Visitors can put on virtual reality goggles for an up-close
look at how four giant tunnel boring machines will go about their work and
learn more about the benefits the project will deliver to every train line.
Metro Tunnel HQ is located at 125-133 Swanston Street,
across the road from the Melbourne Town Hall, and is open from 9am to 5pm
Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on weekends. To read more about the Melbourne metroclick here.
