Limerick tunnel opens to trafficThe Limerick southern bypass is now complete, and opened to traffic last week when the 900 m-long immersed tube tunnel beneath the River Shannon was inaugurated. The project was developed under a PPP between the Irish State and Direct Route consortium of Lagan, Roadbridge, John Sisk and Strabag, with purchase and construction costs amounting to EUR605 million.
