On 14.04.2015, at Bruck an der Mur, Austria, the Slovenian and Austrian state motorway companies signed an agreement on the construction of a second tube of the 8 km-long Karavanke tunnel linking the Austrian A11 and the Slovenian A2 motorways. Work on the project, worth EUR312 million, is scheduled to start in 2017 and be completed by 2023. Asfinag will fund EUR162 million for the 4.414 km Austrian section and Dars will fund EUR150 million for the 3.449 km-long Slovenian section.
