The international competition "the ITA Tunnelling Awards" seeks and rewards the most ground-breaking innovation and outstanding projects in tunnelling and underground space utilization.
The 11th edition of the International Tunnelling and Underground Space awards welcomes new applications, ITA is now calling new candidate to apply.
The 2025 edition will take place on October 1st in Belgrade, Serbia, as part of the South-eastern Europe Tunnelling Conference (SETC-2025), organized by the Serbian Association for Tunnels and Underground Structures (ITA Serbia), which will be held from October 1st to 3rd, 2025. Together, these events will highlight innovative projects and major advancements shaping the future of underground infrastructure.
CANDIDACY PROCESS
The entries can be submitted in 8 categories:
- Major Project of the Year - over €500 million
- Project of the Year - Between €100 & €500 million
- Project of the Year up to €100 million
- Project of the Year - Renovation projects
- Technical Innovation of the Year
- Product/Equipment innovation of the year
- Elevated Thinking Underground: Shaping the Future
- Young Tunneller of the Year

Nominations for the different categories must be related to projects for which the major civil engineering work was completed between 1st March 2022 and 1st April 2025.
The Young Tunneller of the Year rewards an individual born after 1st January 1990 and who has brought an outstanding contribution to tunnelling.
