Norwegian Public Roads Administration and Bane NOR - in order to correct ambiguities in the competition basis, and ensure effective competition for the procurement of a framework agreement for consultancy and design services for the Arna-Stanghelle Joint Project - decided to cancel the tender. The cancellation will lead to a minor delay of about seven weeks without affecting the project's planned progress in the long term.  A new competition will be announced shortly after Easter.   The framework agreement, which was announced on February 5 this year, had a duration of up to eight years and  covered design, consultancy and follow-up of roads and railways for the Arna-Stanghelle Joint Project. This is the largest consultancy agreement ever announced in Norway.   The Arna-Stanghelle project includes:  An important part of the Arna-Stanghelle project consists of service tunnels and underground caverns that, through vertical shafts, will allow for the transport of excavated material to a deposit located 300 meters deep in the Sørfjorden. These shafts will be strategically placed to ensure efficient transportation of the spoil material resulting from tunnel excavation. The shafts will help reduce the need for surface transport, thereby lowering environmental impact and traffic congestion in the area. The deposit in Sørfjorden has undergone thorough evaluation and has been approved by the County Governor to ensure that the materials are managed safely and in the most environmentally friendly way possible.   The Norwegian Public Roads Administration and Bane NOR will make necessary adjustments to the competition basis, and plan to make the following clarifications on:    Please click here for further information, here and no/252 for the tunnelbuilder archive.
