Background and Call for Expressions of Interest
There are a number of Camborne School of Mines Association professionals in Australia and New Zealand. CSMA members propose to hold a “showcase” of CSMA professionals to share experience, innovations and network. The event is proposed to be a one-day workshop held on the east coast of Australia. Presenters will be encouraged to give a short presentation (15-20 mins) on a project, innovation, case study since graduating from CSM and working internationally. A Gala Dinner will be held as an evening networking event. CSMA Australia invites interested parties to submit Expressions of Interest to participate in the showcase, with particular consideration given to the key themes that may be of interest to attendees such as:
• Mining
• Tunnelling
• Project Case Studies
• Engineering Geology
• Project Risk Management
• Research and Development
Guidance for each expression of interest:
Showcase Presentation (15 -20 mins). Please ensure your EOI:
• Is no longer than 250 words.
• Focuses on technical delivery or research that aligns with at least one of the proposed themes
• Includes a clear statement on how your proposed presentation will contribute to the CSMA network
• Beyond the 250 words, also include two sentences about the presenter(s)/author(s), and links to any online bio or profiles.
Keynote Speaker
It is proposed to invite a keynote speaker who has had a long-standing influence and eminence on the CSMA community and network If funding permits this could be an international speaker.
Sponsorship
It is proposed that we seek financial support from CSMA members, employers and relevant the Australasian industries for this event.
Continuing professional development
It is envisaged that the presentations will be of suitable technical quality and content that one-day CPD accreditation could be endorsed by a CSMA partnering Industry Association such as Aus IMM or Engineers Australia.
