CKR project in Hong Kong

The second phase of public engagement activities for the proposed Central Kowloon Route (CKR) in Hong Kong commenced on 05.12.2012: three-months to collect public views on the design and construction plans for the CKR. The first phase of public engagement was completed in 2009. In 2011 the JV Arup (50 percent)/Mott MacDonald (50 percent) was engaged by the Hong Kong’s Highways Department for detailed design consultancy and construction supervision services.

CKR is a 4.7 km dual 3-lane trunk road linking Yau Ma Tei Interchange of West Kowloon Highway with the road network at Kai Tak Development (KTD) and Kowloon Bay in East Kowloon forming a trunk route through Central Kowloon, including a 3.9 km tunnel. CKR, the planned Trunk Road T2 on KTD and Tseung Kwan O–Lam Tin Tunnel, will form Route 6.

Construction work is set to start in 2015 and will be completed in five years. Click cn/62 for tunnelbuilder archive. Visit http://www.ckr-hyd.hk/en/homepage.php. 02/13.
