As a part of the new Strategic Tunnel Enhancement Programme (STEP) awarded by ADSSC of Abu Dhabi to Impregilo for the construction of the 2 lots T02 and T03, CIFA will supply formworks for the cast lining on site. This will be achieved by CIFA using their self-grabbing plastic membrane which is positioned on the external layer of the formwork. Each formwork is in sections of 12 m long 5,0 m diameter and adaptable to 5,5 m diameter. The self-propelled, hydraulic transport and dismantling carriage, jet spray system with model "DCL" distributor and centralised sidewall vibration system will be provided and will move on the same service rail since there are no rotating wheels. Inside the formworks there is a hydraulic system to load and maintain the tension on  the plastic sleeve during the casting phase.
