On the 29th September there was a break through for Cossi part of the Condotte Group for the Selva Piana tunnel. The Selva Piana tunnel is part of the Morbegno bypass section from Cosio to Tartano on the SS38. The new road will replace the old ss38 alignment in Cosio, Regoledo, Morbegno and Talamona Municipalities the work will finish in April 2018. Construction of the main infrastructure tunnels Paniga (2.3 km) and Selva Piana (2.7 km) and 5 viaducts are complete.
The safety tunnels for each tunnel are connected by the pieton bypass. The excavation of Selva Piana ‘s safety tunnel will be finished by the end of October. The safety tunnel excavation, lining and the base for road in the Paniga tunnel have now been completed. Soon all the technological equipment will be installed.
