Project Overview -  The Danish Road Directorate has launched a market dialogue for the proposed Marselistunnel project in Aarhus, Denmark. The project comprises the construction of a 1.8 km, four-lane road tunnel beneath Marselis Boulevard, together with a new surface road above the completed tunnel.

The tunnel will form a key transport link between the Port of Aarhus, the city centre, and the Aarhus South Motorway, significantly improving traffic flow and reducing congestion through the urban area.

Scope of Works

The planned works include:

• Construction of a 1.8 km cut-and-cover / road tunnel with four traffic lanes
• Development of a new roadway above the tunnel
• Installation of noise barriers
• New and improved pedestrian and cycle routes
• Noise mitigation measures along the Aarhus South Motorway near Stavtrup

Purpose of the Market Dialogue

Ahead of launching the formal construction tender, the Danish Road Directorate is seeking input from the market on:

• Procurement strategy and contract structure
• Contract conditions
• Construction methodology and execution approach
• Market capacity and risk allocation

Feedback from contractors and suppliers will be used to help shape the final tender documentation and ensure that procurement and contractual arrangements reflect current market conditions.
