The Heavy Civil Infrastructure business of L&T Construction has secured the order from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for construction of tunnels, formation, construction shaft and other ancillary works from km 47+360 to  km 63+117 (Package 4) with TBM and NATM in connection with the New Broad-Gauge (BG)  line between Rishikesh and Karanprayag (125 km). The contract includes the construction of tunnel n.8 (14.577 Km upline and 13.123 Km downline) with embankments of approximately 800 m at both ends. Part of the 14.577 Km and 13.123 Km  tunnel,will be excavated using two new hard rock TBMs of diameter 9.1 m and the rest of the tunnel will be built using New Austrian Tunnel Method (NATM).
