UYAK2023, the 5th International Underground Excavations Symposium and Exhibition, will be held in Istanbul on March 2023, with the cooperation of the TMMOB Chamber of Mining Engineers Istanbul Branch and the Department of Rail Systems of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.  

The theme of UYAK2023 is "Cities of the Future, Urban Tunnelling and Underground Excavations."  

The International Underground Excavations Symposium, initiated by the Istanbul Branch of the Chamber of Mining Engineers of TMMOB is run in conjunction with the start of the Istanbul Metro construction excavations. The symposium has been held four times in 1994, 2007, 2013, and 2018 in parallel with the developments in metro and tunnel excavations.   

The abstracts - a minimum of 500 words and a maximum of 2 pages, in 12-point Times News Roman (doc, docx, or pdf) format, adequately explaining the study and results - must be submitted by filling out the "Abstract Submission Form" by October 1, 2022.
