The Public Hearing for the North East Link Environment Effects Statement (EES) which began on the 25th July will reach its conclusion in mid – September 2019.
Any individual and any groups and organisations who made written submissions on the EES will at that point have the chance to present to the independent Inquiry and Advisory Committee. To learn more about the hearing and see the latest timetable and tabled documents, visit the Engage Victoria website https://engage.vic.gov.au/north-east-link-project. The timetable is subject to change and new documents are added to the website regularly.
Once the Hearing closes, the Independent Advisory Committee will consider the information provided in the EES, the Works Approval Application, draft Planning Scheme Amendment and public submissions. They will then make recommendations to the Minister for Planning within 30 business days of the Public Hearing finishing. The Minister for Planning will then make an assessment of the project’s environmental effects. A decision on planning approvals is expected in late 2019, with works starting in 2020.
