According to the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB), at exactly 11:00 a.m. on 15/09/2025 the TBM EPB n.2 named Tao Bạo - designed and manufactured by Herrenknecht - officially completed the 1,353m long excavation section from station S9 - Kim Ma, officially entering underground station S10 - Cat Linh. This is an important technical milestone, marking a new step forward in the construction of the tunnel section of the CP03 package, Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station Metro line.

The TBM n.2 departed from station S9 - Kim Ma on February 3, 2025, and has so far completed about 1,353/2,592m of tunnel, corresponding to 902 installed tunnel lining rings. After this milestone, the TBM n.2 - diameter 6.60 m, length over 100 m and weight approximately 850 t - will continue its journey from station S10 to station S11 – Temple of Literature, expected to be completed in early 2026. 

Meanwhile, TBM n. 1, launched from station S9 on July 30, 2024, reached station S10 - Cat Linh on March 7, 2025 and station S11 - Van Mieu on July 28, 2025. To date, it has completed the excavation of 2,040 m out of 2,580 m and has installed 1,360 tunnel lining rings. TBM n. 1 is continuing its excavation towards station S12. 

To date, the CP03 package – Tunnels and underground stations at the metro Line 3 project has reached 66.46% of progress.
