Abu Dhabi by 2030The Capital City District, currently under planning for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the UAE, will house 350,000 people and provide 150,000 jobs. An integrated, high capacity transit system is envisaged to serve the local population and to link the district to the surrounding region. This will include underground car parks, a light rail metro within the city, and a high-speed railway to connect with the rest of the UAE. The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council is responsible for reviewing and assessing plans put forward by developers, and their approval.
