AUA Awards for 2004The American Underground Construction Association will present the following awards during its NAT 2004 conference in Atlanta, GA from 17th to 21st April:Outstanding Individual in the Underground Construction Industry - Ted Budd, Kenny Construction - for his extraordinary ability over the past 30 years to complete complex and difficult tunnel projects.Outstanding Underground Project - Port Authority of New York and New Jersey - for the restoration of the Exchange Place Station complex in New Jersey, damaged as a result of the attacks of 9/11/2001.Outstanding Planning for Underground Projects - Mayor Shirley Franklin and Commissioner Jack Ravan, City of Atlanta - for their innovative and visionary Watershed Management Project, a complex project to construct a world-class water system.Special Award - The Center for National Response - for the Memorial Tunnel, which is in its third use, having been originally constructed in 1953 as part of the West Virginia Turnpike.
