NCC got a NOK85 million contract from Nord-Trondelag Elektrisitetsverk (NTE) to build the Funna hydropower project. The project includes a 580 m-long access tunnel, a 860 m-long tailrace tunnel and a 1.8 km-long pressure tunnel. The excavated section of the access tunnel is 30 sq m and 16 sq m for the other tunnels. There is also a 125 m-long 4 sq m shaft and a 4,500 cu m underground power station (length 26 m, width 11.5 m, height 21 m). Geology is green stone and schists. The access tunnel will be excavated with an Atlas Copco boomer H 188, with a Cat 966 D wheel loader for mucking-out. Other tunnels to be driven by an Atlas Copco boomer 282 and a Toro loader. Support with Orsta Staalindustri bolts and shotcrete. Mucking-out with dumptrucks. Work is due to end on 14th June, 2007.
