Strabag won a EUR5.94 million contract to build the 2,150 m-long 5 m-wide pilot bore of the Faè tunnel between Cles and Mostizzolo in Trento province. This exploratory tunnel is to be driven parallel to the future tunnel and will be used as a service and escape gallery when the main tunnel opens. Strabag will use an open type hard rock TBM, already owned by the company, either an Atlas Copco MK15 or a Wirth. The safety coordination has been assigned to Ing. Piero Paolo Susano for EUR115,680.
