Lovat reports an order received in November, 2001 from a jv of Grandi Lavori Fincosit and SELI for the design and manufacture of a large 7.77 m-diameter TBM to excavate 3.5 km of tunnel. The two EPB TBMs Model RME306SE will be used on Line 1. They are equipped with fully hydraulic bi-directional, variable speed mixed ground cuttingheads.
