Award of contract to Porr International of Austria for construction of Lots 1A and 1B twin-tube tunnels on Stuttgart-Ulm project. Lot 1A is the 9.5 km-long Filderstadt tunnel to be excavated in Keuper gypsum/marl and marl/sandstone. Lot 1B is the 12.3 km-long Ober-Untertuerkheim connection to be excavated with associated structures in Keuper marls and Upper Quaternary deposits. NATM or TBM methods can be used in both lots.
