BIEGE European Trans Energy GmbH und TEGRAD d.o.o  from Vienna secured the EUR5.78 million contract, excluding VAT, for the new overhead contact lines for the 7976 m Caravanche/Karavanke/Karawanken railway tunnel (Lot KRT2B).

Overhead line installation work will be in the section from Rosenbach station to Jesenice station, in the national territory of Austria and Slovenia. In the tunnel area (7.975 km), the erection/installation of a certified overhead line by means of overhead conductor rail is required. From the south portal up to and including Jesenice station, the installation of a new overhead contact line system is required in accordance with the specifications of Slovenian Railways. Kilometre State border km 53 635 on the Austrian side corresponds to km 637.264,96 on the Slovenian side.

Track 1 from ÖBB-km 49 262 (north portal) to SŽ-km 633 696 (south portal) will be equipped with a certified overhead contact line with overhead conductor rail according to EC design examination certificate No. 0893/2/CH1/15/ENE/DE EN/0095 of Notified Body Interoperability Railway Systems at the Federal Railway Authority - Railway CERT identification number of the European Commission 0893.
