ITA Presidency Battle Hots UpBallots for the next three years presidency of ITA will be cast on 5th May, 2007 at the ITA Assembly in Prague. A leading contender is Martin Knights of Jacobs Engineering, who is already an ITA vice president and has seven years experience of the management of ITA affairs. Martin believes the ITA must be influential, relevant, effective and responsive to the needs of everybody in tunnelling. He has been in the industry since 1970, and is very optimistic about the immediate future. He foresees rapid growth in the transport, public health and environment sectors because the international agenda on these issues already has high momentum. He believes that the ITA should demonstrate and promote best practice in the use of underground space to industry, clients, government, financial and educational institutions.
