The top heading of the EUR88.7 million monotube, twin-track Seiro tunnel between Banos de Molgas and Vilar de Barrio municipalities on the 6.5 km-long Porto-Miaman section of AV Madrid-Galicia high-speed line was completed on 06.11.2012. Excavation of the bench section is proceeding. Seiro tunnel has a length of 1,842 m, of which 44 m is in cut/cover at the adits, and has an inner section 85 sq m. A 350 m-long safety tunnel will provide access for emergency vehicles. The geology consists of granite with different average degrees of alteration.
