The Andalusia regional government has awarded a joint venture of Ferrovial and Ucop a EUR62.8 million contract to build the 3.5 km section from Genil river to La Salud industrial park of the Granada light metro. Due to take 30 months to complete, this section runs underground for its first 1,120 metres (30% of the length), including one underground station among its six stations.
