Aker Wirth TBMs for KoralmAker Wirth will supply contractor Strabag AG with a pair of 9.93 m-diameter telescopic shield TBMs for the 20 km-long KAT 2 section of the 32.5 km-long Koralm tunnel on the Graz-Klagenfurt high speed line in Austria. The TBM backup will be supplied by Rowa Tunnelling Logistics AG. Access to KAT 2 will be through a 60 m-deep shaft. The first 1,800 t machine will start tunnelling in October, 2012.
