On 05.03.2015 a Robbins 6.2 m-diameter Main Beam TBM completed boring a 2.8 km-long extension tunnel, known as the Eagle Creek Tunnel, for the Indianapolis Deep Tunnel System in Indiana, USA. The contractor is Shea/Kiewit (S-K) JV. The machine achieved a fast rate of advance using a sophisticated Robbins continuous conveyor system of horizontal and vertical conveyors for efficient muck removal. Read the press release.
