Line B extension of the Lyon metroIn July 2009 the JV headed by Chantiers Modernes Rhone-Alpes, a subsidiary of Vinci Group, with the nine companies SPIE Batignolles, TPCI, Dodin Campenon Bernard TP, GCC Agence Rhône-Alpes, Demathieu & Bard, SPIE Fondations SAS, Botte Fondations, Entreprise Tournaud and EMCC, opened the site for the 1.7 km Line B extension of Lyon metro, from Stade de Gerland to Oullins SNCF station. From September 2009, the first section from Stadium to Parc de Gerland was built in a covered trench. By summer, 2010 the TBM entry and exit shafts in Parc de Gerland and rue Orsel at Oullins will be completed. In autumn, the 9.5 m diameter TBM will commence driving a 1.4 km-long tunnel, of which 300 m will be beneath the river Rhone. Its arrival at Oullins is scheduled for spring, 2011.
