Goldegg breakthrough in South Tirol

On 18.03.2010 the first 1.5 km road tunnel on SS 508 in Val Sarentino broke through. The tunnel, with two safety exits, is from Castel Roncolo to Goldegg quarry. Work started in the summer of 2008, with the excavation of the pilot tunnel. The second 2 km tunnel is waiting for funds to become available in 2011. For more click here and it/72. 12/10.
