First section of Gautrain Rapid Rail Link opens for World Cup The first section of the 160 km/h Gautrain Rapid Rail Link, between Sandton Station and the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, was opened on 05.06.2010 in time for the start of the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup.
