Münchner Stadsentwässerung has awarded Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG, part of the Royal Bam Group, the EUR20 million contract for the construction of two wastewater tunnels in Munich. The project will be completed in the spring of 2021. The two tunnels have a total length of 2,180 m and will be constructed at 7 to 12 m below the Landsberger Strasse in the west of the city. For this, Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau will use a hydro-shield tunnel boring machine with an external diameter of 3.6 m. The project also includes the construction of various shafts. 2)       New construction of a single-track tunnel in parallel position and single-track renewal of the existing tunnel.

3)      Single-track renewal of the 3 tunnels (permanent single-track operation of the corresponding section of the line). The requirements of the EBA guideline "Requirements of fire and disaster protection for the construction and operation of railway tunnels" are to be implemented. In addition to the tunnels, the superstructure, rescue areas, modular buildings, fire-fighting water tanks and dry water pipes have to be planned. As an optional service, the planning of the Lph 3+ 4 is assigned for the same service screens.
