Aguas Argentinas has engaged Brown & Root to provide technical, cost and programme services for design and construction of an 8 km-long, 3.3 m-diameter sewer tunnel on the eastern border of the city and an optional 7 km-long sea outfall tunnel into the 40 km wide River Plate between Argentina and Uruguay. The groups are: Benito Roggio e Hijos; José Cartellone; Dycasa; Skanska; and Techint. Line A, which was inaugurated in 1913 and was Latin America's first metro, has 14 stations and runs 7.13 km. The extension will run from the current southern terminus in Primera Junta through four stations in Puan, Carabobo, Flores and Nazca. Work is expected to begin by mid-2004 and finish in 2007. 50/03.Dycasa is the lowest bidder to build Line A extension from Primera Junta to Nazca, with a budget of USD95.2 million. Work to commence in March 2005 for inauguration scheduled for 2007. 39/04.The financial offers for Line B extension in Buenos Aires are: Benito Roggio e Hijos with ARS100 million; Dycasa with ARS100.9 million; Techint ARS105.9 million; and Skanska ARS108.8 million. More from teaspk@tearg.com.ar November 2000.Five companies have submitted financial bids for the construction of the south section of Line H, between Caseros and Hospitales, with two new stations in Parque Patricios, under Caseros Avenue, and Hospitales, under Almafuerte Avenue. The Ps71,188,471 low bid, below the official estimate, has been submitted by Jose Cartellone. Dycasa offered Ps86,342,428 and Benito Roggio Ps87,700,550. Techint proposed Ps92,148,448 while Skanska is the highest bidder with Ps99,342,428. The financial bids will now be assessed prior to the contract award, which will also take into account the technical bids. This will be the second section of Line H. The first section, which construction is under way by Dycasa, includes five stations from Once to Caseros. Line H spans 11.4 km from the south to downtown and will serve a total of 16 stations. The contract to build a 4 km-long extension of metro Line H with six new stations, value EUR394 million, has been awarded to a consortium of Techint (leader) and Dycasa (Dragados y Construcciones SA). Line H is to be extended northwards from Corrientes to Plaza Francia, with intermediate stations at Cordoba, Santa Fe and Las Heras.
