The fifth construction stage runs from the city centre through Åsane to Vågsbotn, together with a continual cycle route and an extension of the Fløyfjell tunnel to Eidsvåg. The light rail route from Kaigaten in the city centre to Vågsbotn in Åsane is 12.8 km long and has 14 stops. The cycle route from Kaigaten to Vågsbotn is approx. 12.7 km long. The extension of the Fløyfjell tunnel is approx. 2.5 km, so that the total length of the Fløyfjell tunnel will be approx. 5.3 km. The work includes, amongst other things, ground work, tunnel work, demolition work, concrete work, securing work, water and sewage work, electrical work, signalling installations, and track work.

Norconsult AS from Sandvika has been awarded a EUR 14.92 million (NOK150 million) E01 contract on a framework agreement for design assignments for Bybanen Utbygging. 

The framework agreement, with a duration of up to 8 years, includes major engineering design services for preparatory contracts and projects for Bergen’s Light Rail, construction stage 5 and also assignments for construction of stage 4.

Surge shaft chamber complete, and Skanska Raise Boring mobilizing refurbished Robbins 97 RLC to bore 463 m-deep x 4.04 m-diameter shaft. 2.4 km-long draw off tunnel between Lakes Tyin and Toroholmen underway using Schaeff ITC 312 loader and Moxy MT25 trucks.
