They submitted a bid of EUR79.4 million.The project includes the design and construction of a 303 m-long double-track tunnel, starting from Fleming shaft and ending at Peristeri station, a 28 m-long double-track tunnel section, from Peristeri station to the west ventilation shaft at Peristeri station, to be constructed using the cut-and-cover method and a 450 m-long tunnel from the north end of Anthoupoli station. The two longer tunnels will be built by conventional methods.Peristeri station will be constructed using the cut-and-cover method (70%) along Panagi Tsaldari Avenue and underground boring methods (30%) to mitigate disturbance to vehicular traffic. Anthoupoli station will be constructed using the cut-and-cover method underneath Anapafseos Street. The station will be constructed to enable further extensions both towards Aghios Ierotheos, Petroupoli and Liossia. Construction will commence in June and the extension will be completed in the end of 2008. The JV J&P AVAX, Ghella and Alstom Transport signed the EUR344 million contract for the 7.6 km extension of Line 3 of the Athens metro from Aghia Marina to Piraeus, including six new stations. Attiko Metro has announced that three bidders were shortlisted for 12.8km Alsos Veikou to Goudi section on the Athens metro Line 4: TVS (Tepna AE – Vinci – Siemens AG); J+P Avax Ae – Ghella SpA – Alstom Transport SA; Aktor Ate– Ansaldo STP SpA – Hitachi Rail Italy SpA.

The candidate contractors are invited to submit their technical and financial offers by 10.12.2018.

The project’s budget has risen to EUR1.51 bn and its construction is estimated to take 8 years.

The Alsos Veikou - Goudi section (Section A of Metro Line 4) crosses Athens, Galatsi, Kessariani and Zografou municipalities and will have a total length of 12.8 km, with 15 underground stations. The ΑVAX SA – Ghella SpA– Alstom Transport SA consortium, led by AVAX, has been declared provisional lowest bidder for the construction of the first phase of Line 4 of the Athens Metro, more specifically the Alsos Veikou – Goudi section,  offering a discount of 12.19%. The project, budgeted at EUR1.8 billion, is the largest infrastructure project currently planned in the European Union and will radically change commuting in the Athens metropolitan area.
