Zogno bypass start in Lombardy Construction of Zogno bypass along the ex SS 470 in Bergamo province of Italy commenced in early-July. The new single carriageway road will be 4.3 km-long and will include two natural tunnels Inzogno (654 m) and Monte Zogno (2,211 m). The final design extended the length of the main tunnel from 1,792 m to 2,211 m in order to reduce the gradient from 5.24 percent to 3 percent and facilitate truck transit. Completion is scheduled for July, 2014. The estimated cost of EUR61.4 million is reduced to a bid value of EUR44.4 million, with EUR28 million from the Lombardy Region, EUR8.018 million from Province of Bergamo (18%) and EUR8.382 million from the Valtellina Law fund (19%).
