New credit facility for Athens Metro extensionOn 17.06.2010 Attiko Metro S.A. and European Investment Bank (EIB) signed an agreement covering a new credit facility of EUR150 million for design, construction and commissioning of extensions of Athens Metro Lines 2 and 3, as well as the supply of rolling stock and E&M systems. Line 2 will be extended 1.5 km to Anthoupoli with two new stations Peristeri and Anthoupoli, and a 5.5 km underground extension to Elliniko will have four new stations at Ilioupoli, Alimos, Argyroupoli and Elliniko. Line 3 will be extended 1.4 km to Haidari, with the addition of one new station, already at an advanced construction stage, and the completion of the new Aghia Paraskevi station.
