Madrid-Barcelona-French border high-speed railwayOn 17.06.2010 the TBM Gerundi completed the first 480 m of the 3.6 km-long Girona section on the Madrid-Barcelona-French border high-speed railway. The TBM launched on 21.04.2010 from Mas Xirgu shaft (23 m depth) and has installed 1,869 segments for 267 x 1.8 m rings. It will excavate two tunnels, Girona I (1.3 km) and Girona II (1.5 km) and will exit from the shaft at Fontajau. For more click here, here and es/20. 25/10.
