First TBM EPB ready for delivery to Panama metroPanama City's first metro line will involve the construction of a 6.4 km-long tunnel using two Herrenknecht 9,730 mm-diameter EPBs. The machines have 106,964 kN thrust force and deliver more than 3,400 kW drive power to the cutting wheels. With an overall length of 90 m, the machines each weigh 1,400 t. The President of the Republic of Panama, Ricardo Martinelli Berrocal, visited the Herrenknecht plant at Schwanau to mark the completion of the first machine.
