From 12-15^th November, Femern A/S will gather together around 125 representatives from the nine consortia that have pre-qualified to bid for work on the immersed tunnel. The meeting aims to give contractors the best possible understanding of both the technical content and the conditions contained in the proposed contracts.The conference will be divided into three sessions that highlight the issues on, respectively, dredging for the immersed tunnel, construction of the immersed tunnel, and the construction of tunnel portals. On the final day the contractors will be introduced to the actual terrain and soil conditions in the Fehmarnbelt, visiting the construction areas on both Lolland and Fehmarn.Following the pre-bid conference, contractors will prepare an initial bid in which they set out the technical solutions and methods that they will use.
