Cut/cover tunnel on the SS36 at Monza in ItalyThe link road under construction between the SS36 and the Milan motorway network crosses the municipalities of Monza and Cinisello Balsamo, through densely built-up urban areas. It includes a 1,805 m-long bi-tube cut/cover tunnel beneath Viale Lombardia in Monza with three lanes in each direction. When the tunnel is complete, Viale Lombardia will be restyled and used exclusively for urban traffic. The permanent ventilation system will filter the air inside the tunnel near the exits. Electrostatic filtration will be undertaken in built-in chambers. The plant is fully automated, equipped with 1,600 mm-diameter, fully silenced 160 kW and 132 kW Systemair fans.
