Following a competitive tendering process Yurringa Energy awarded the contract to deliver 137.5 GWh of renewable electricity during the construction of the North East Link road tunnels, suppling 100% green energy to the Spark North East Link Design & Construct Joint Venture (Spark NEL D&C JV, or Spark). Th Cross Fraser Partnership with Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd and  Pomerleau BC Inc, supported by design and engineering consultants Arcadis Canada Inc has been selected by the Province of British Columbia as the preferred proponent for the Fraser River Tunnel Project. Gateway Development Commission (GDC) has awarded  to Schiavone, Dragados Lane Joint Venture the EUR425.02 million (USD465.6 million) contract for construction of the twin-tube 1.55 km ( 5,100-feet) long  Palisades tunnel. The tunnel has an inside diameter of  7.68 m (25.2 feet) and six cross passages.
