Scope of Works

DB InfraGO AG is planning the railway hinterland connection to the Fixed Fehmarnbelt Crossing (FBQ), providing a high-capacity rail link between Lübeck and Fehmarn as the German connection to the Fehmarnbelt immersed tunnel currently under construction by Denmark.

The overall project, titled “Rail connection to the Fixed Fehmarnbelt Crossing (FBQ)”, includes the planning, construction and commissioning of a continuously double-track, electrified railway line between Hamburg, Lübeck and Puttgarden. The project aims to deliver fast long-distance and regional passenger services as well as enhanced freight capacity within the European rail network.

Germany is contractually committed under the international treaty to upgrade and electrify the Lübeck–Puttgarden line. The alignment was defined following an extensive regional planning procedure in Schleswig-Holstein involving local authorities and stakeholders.

DB InfraGO AG is the project promoter for 10 planning approval sections, all located in Schleswig-Holstein. The works form part of the overall procurement packages VP 1–7, delivered under a rail partnership (alliance) model.

This notice concerns Procurement Package VP 03, relating specifically to the Fehmarnsund Crossing (FSQ) planning approval section.

Tunnel Details
