In September, 2009 the Swedish Road Authority decided to give a go-ahead for the Förbifart Stockholm, or Stockholm Bypass. Lemcon of the Lemminkäinen Group has won a EUR55 million contract to build the Torbacken-Hede dual-track section on the Gothenburg-Norwegian border line in western Sweden, as part of the Vänern line or northern link. The Swedish National Rail Administration has appointed the í…F Group as consulting engineers responsible for electrical engineering, signalling and telecommunication systems in conjunction with the City Line in Stockholm. The City Line project is a single-tube double-track rail tunnel between Tomteboda in the centre of Stockholm and commuter stations on the south side of the city. The 5.6 km-long 110 m² tunnel will be built to expand rail traffic capacity on the southern approach to Stockholm. The project also includes two underground stations in Stockholm City and Odenplan. As the second of four phases in the City Link project, the Anneberg-Skanstull tunnel will help improve electricity supply in the Greater Stockholm region. With a length of around 14 km and a diameter of 5 m, the tunnel is being built around 50 - 100 m below the Swedish capital using a tunnel boring machine.
